About Us

Superior Meat Processors was founded in 1989 in the North East of England, as manufacturers and suppliers of Doner Kebabs.
Superior Meat Processors established itself firmly at the forefront of this developing industry using considerable effort and determination.
We at Superior Meat Processors have introduced our product range into schools, colleges, the prison service and cash and carries.
Superior Meat Processors are also an active member of the D.M.A. (Defence Management Association), an interface for the Armed Forces worldwide.
A presentation was held at H.M.S. Berkeley and as a result, we are currently in negotiations with a number of Armed Forces for the supply of some of our product range.
Through Superior Meat Processors, the Doner Kebab industry has developed from a heavily labour intensive industry to an industry that now can boast very little human contact with the end product.

Tradition

It is said that three major kinds of cuisine exist in the world; Turkish, Chinese, and French. Fully justifying its reputation, Turkish Cuisine is always a pleasant surprise for the visitor.

In addition to being the refined product of centuries of experience, Turkish Cuisine has a very pure quality. The variety and simplicity of the recipes and the quality of the ingredients are guarantees of delicious meals.

Slices of marinated meat on a tall vertical spit and grilled as it slowly turns are delicious. The cooked parts of the cone of meat are cut in very thin slices by a huge sword-like knife, and arranged on a plate with Ace or flat pide (pitta) bread. This dish is the most formidable obstacle to the victory of the hamburger in the fast food market.

Doner kebab in rolls with slices of pickle and chips is the most common stand-up lunch for city office workers.

Almost every district of Turkey has its own kebab speciality!

The traditional Turkish method of cooking Doner Kebab i.e. on a rotating vertical skewer in front of a barbeque was developed from primitive means.
Originally, the Kebab was rotated horizontally over open coals or fires. The meat consisted of boneless pieces of meat.
This was eventually developed into minced meat with selected spices added.

1. What are the logistics of SMP?

In the UK, we have National distribution for wholesale and retail with deliveries once per week. Further afield in Europe, there is a minimum order of one pallet. Out side of Europe, delivery is available for full container loads only.

2. Where can I get prices for your products?

Prices are available on application and will depend on your requirements.

3. What type of meats are used in your products?

We use lamb, beef or chicken.

4. The product I require is not listed, can it be made?

Yes, we can cater for special tailor made kebabs using different meats and spices. Just inquire and we will be happy to assist you.

5. Can I receive a sample?

Samples are available, and are given on application.

6. I am interested in buying, how much will I need?

A rep can call and assess your requirements.

7. How do I pay for your products?

Payment is usually in advance with bank transfer or credit card. A pre-payment discount may be applied to your order as our way of thanking you for the custom.

8. Do we accept credit?

Credit can be applied for and set up once insurance has been approved.
